A gas meter is a specialized flow meter, used to measure the volume of fuel gases such as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas etc. When the measurement is inaccurate issues like serious accidents, emergency shutdowns, unplanned maintenance, production slowdowns or cost overruns rise.
Pressure regulating skid is required to supply a certain quantity of gas at specific operating pressure. The pressure regulating skid (PRS) essentially performs a safety function i.e. limit the downstream pressure up to predetermined set point. Incidentally the limitation of pressure in the downstream end is supported by safety devices used in pressure regulating skid. The pressure regulator and safety devices are powered by gas itself, so that this function does not require any external power source i.e. comp. air or electrical supply.
PERIODIC TESTING AND CERTIFICATION
LPG installations should be kept in a safe and good working condition by a combination of routine and periodic inspection and maintenance. This is a legal requirement in most countries with defined scope and frequency.
